Under the guidance of nationally renowned GI specialist Dr. Willis Parsons, the Gastroenterology Center at Northwest Community Hospital has become one of the leading centers for interventional gastroenterology procedures in Illinois. As medical director of Northwest Community Hospital's Gastroenterology Center, Dr. Parsons is further expanding the Center to enhance patient experience and monitor outcomes.

Dr. Parsons has done over 20,000 interventional or complex procedures diagnosing, staging and treating conditions of the GI tract.

Consultation expertise and same-day interventional procedures

At the Center for Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, we take great pride in providing exceptional, quality care with rapid response and turnover to physicians requesting consultation.

Physicians can expect an immediate response from our expert team. We are able to see patients quickly and schedule critical procedures in an efficient manner. We utilize nurse practitioners (NP) to serve as physician extenders, which support quick access to service. Our NPs perform consultation services on both inpatients and outpatients. Every patient's health history and physical evaluation is discussed with the physician to develop the optimal plan of care. We offer same-day interventional procedures on inpatients from other facilities, transported via ambulance to Northwest Community Hospital. These patients can have their procedure and be returned to the referring facility upon recovery. We welcome patients from primary and secondary service areas as well as neighboring cities and states.
